If they are scanned, then you will be getting an image of text. In that case, your best format would be PNG. You can then OCR the PNG files with IEVision.

Posted - Apr 01 2025 : 08:55:16 I have the latest version of ImageM and IEVision, can you show me an example of how to get PDF results in text instead of text image? I get documents directly from the scanner and I prefer it to be scanned in the appropriate format for OCR, in this case PDF with text. Can you give me an example of how to scan this into PDF, getting it directly from the scanner in the most appropriate format for OCR?

Your sample wasn't attached, but you can perform OCR on the same way as regular image using IEVision:

Note: To open PDF files, you will need a plug-in, such as PDFium:

Also, if the PDF contains text rather than just an image of text, you can extract the text more accurately using PDF methods:
